Brilliant Resilience Summer Camp
Building Future Leaders - Building Stronger Communities
The Brilliant Resilience Summer Camp is the result of collaborative effort involving a coalition of multiple community based organizations--Citizens for a Sustainable Future, Earth Garden, Tallahassee Food Network, Life is Like a Rubik's Cube, Justice is Us Project, and M.A.D.E. Fitness. Rooted in the heart of the local community, our mission is to nurture and develop resilience among our youth, helping to cultivate a growth mindset, reduce juvenile crime rates, and ultimately empower youth in Leon County’s African American Communities to become the leaders that we need.
Our program addresses the effects of racial and economic inequity experienced within this area, deploying a four-pronged resilience enhancement strategy that targets Advanced Problem-Solving, Emotional Emancipation, Cultural and Community Consciousness Development, and Physical Fitness.
The camp is open to all children grades 3rd to 9th. However we are especially committed to reaching those from historically disadvantaged neighborhoods and have scholarships for residents of Leon County. Our activities are designed to boost self-esteem, provide resilience skills, and instill a sense of pride in our young people.
From June 17 to July 26, campers will experience a rich variety of activities from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, all aimed at supporting both academic and personal growth.
- Our Mission: To cultivate future leaders in our local Black community.
